Inclusion in a key Dow Jones index reflects the company’s significant impact on environmental, social and governance issues.
Hologic’s growing efforts have resulted in inclusion in the Dow Jones Sustainability North America Composite Index for the first time.
In its listing, the original benchmark for sustainability-minded investors, Dow Jones ranks Hologic’s sustainability performance in the 87th percentile and among the top 20 percent of the 600 largest companies in North America as tracked by the S&P Global BMI (Broad Market Index). Hologic’s performance on the Dow Jones index’s exhaustive “Corporate Sustainability Assessment,” which evaluates ESG criteria, has improved every year since Hologic first completed the survey in 2016. At that time, Hologic scored in the 16th percentile compared to peers.
“The Dow Jones index listing validates our commitment to sustainability through our passion for championing women’s health and our purpose of enabling healthier lives everywhere, every day”, said Hologic Chief Financial Officer Karleen Oberton. “We are proud of the progress we have made on ESG priorities over the last several years and are excited about the many opportunities still ahead.”

Dow Jones’ assessment process for its 2021 index recognizes many of the ESG strengths highlighted in the Hologic Sustainability Report, including:
• Governance: Hologic places in the 88th percentile in this category, which encompasses issues such as a company’s corporate governance, risk-management oversight, product quality, marketing practices, and supply chain management.
• Social: Hologic also places in the 88th percentile in this category, which looks at a company’s ability to attract and retain top talent, employee development programs, occupational safety practices, and policies on labor and human rights.
In addition to the Dow Jones listing, Investor’s Business Daily chose Hologic as one of its top 100 ESG stocks this year and the Drucker Institute ranked Hologic in the top 20 percent of the most effectively managed companies last year.
A highly engaged staff drives Hologic’s ESG impact. In 2021, Hologic earned Gallup’s top workplace award after placing in the top 5 percent of companies worldwide as measured by the Gallup Q12 Engagement Survey.
This culture of highly engaged employees makes possible Hologic’s early detection and treatment technologies for breast and cervical cancers, sexually transmitted infections, uterine fibroids, abnormal uterine bleeding, COVID-19 and other medical complications that affect billions of people worldwide. It also helped to fuel Hologic’s creation of the Hologic Global Women’s Health Index, the most comprehensive and internationally comparative survey on women’s health, and efforts to reduce racial disparities in healthcare through the Project Health Equity initiative.
