About the Program
The Hologic Scholarship Program helps qualifying children and grandchildren of full-time employees in the U.S. who have worked at Hologic for at least one year. The San Diego Foundation independently administers the program. Below are the program’s benefits and requirements.
Benefits:
$2,500 per year
for students attending or planning to attend vocational/trade schools.
$5,000 per year
for undergraduate students attending or planning to attend a four-year college. No graduate studies.
Re-apply each year
Scholarship recipients can re-apply each year for up to five consecutive years of potential funding.
Requirements:
$2,500 scholarships: reserved for applicants attending or planning to attend vocational/trade schools and have an expected annual family contribution (EFC) of $0 to $40,000.
$5,000 scholarships: reserved for undergraduate students attending or planning to attend a four-year college and have an expected annual family contribution (EFC) of $0 to $40,000.
Biological, adopted, stepchildren or grandchildren of full-time employees in the U.S. who have worked at Hologic for at least one year can apply. These applicants must be one of the following:
- High school graduates or graduating high school seniors.
- Current college students.
- Current trade/vocational school students.
- Adult re-entry students.
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent U.S. residents.
- Minimum academic achievement: un-weighted grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- To comply with IRS rules that ban “self-dealing,” Hologic will award scholarships to a maximum of one out of every four qualified applicants. The San Diego Foundation will independently evaluate all applications for the Hologic Scholarship Program.
