ThinPrep® Specimen Collection

Specimen collection is a key factor in obtaining adequate and representative samples for analysis. When collecting a specimen, it is important to use appropriate devices and techniques.

The use of lubricant should be avoided prior to specimen collection, as it can adhere to the filter membrane and may cause poor cell transfer to the slide. If lubricant use is unavoidable, both the type (carbomer-free), and amount, of lubricant should be considered to ensure compatibility.

Physical versions of these materials can be made available. Please contact your local Hologic representative.
